Yesterday was Trevor’s, my husband, 24th birthday! I was probably more excited about it than he was. He means so much to me. I was really excited to celebrate him and to show him how much I loved him by showing him with his favorite things and a handful of gifts.

Trevor’s last two birthday’s he was in training with the Marine’s so I either didn’t see him at all or only for an hour. We both were working this year but that didn’t matter because we had all morning and evening together to enjoy his turning of the year.

Trevor’s Birthday Gifts

I had a number of gifts already bought weeks before but of course I procrastinated on the dessert because he really isn’t a dessert guy but I wanted to get him something anyways last minute. I ran to Walmart that morning and of course bought him a couple more gifts and like three different desserts. He is always away before me so he ate cereal before I was up but I picked up muffins and we opened his gifts in the morning with me. I got a him a variety of things.

I bought weeks ago three different books. They are all brewing books since he loves to brew beer. The Brew Your Own: Big Book of Clone Recipes was his favorite which has all the duplicate recipes from the big brand breweries. The two other books are the stories how the brewery made it big time. So You Want To Start A Brewery? is the Lagunitas Brewing Company story by founder and owner Tony Magee. Brewing up a Business is written by the Founder of Dogfish Brewing Companies Sam Calagione, a master brewer.

Trevor’s most excited about the Clone recipes but I think we both will end up reading the other two as well. Another gift I got him was a framed picture of us two at our wedding with his childhood dog. Marge, Trevor’s favorite dog from his youth, passed away recently. Trevor picked out the frame, but I printed the picture and wrapped it up for him for a nice dedicated moment for her.

The last couple gifts were all for the beach since we have been going weekly. Hey, we live in Florida, it’s like our duty to go that often, haha. I got Trevor a body surfing board, two small tubes for floating in, spike ball, and a little table for our speaker and food. Trevor’s mom got him a beach cart to carry everything in which is awesome!

After work, we went and got dinner at Nick’s Boathouse here in Pensacola. It is a nice seafood restaurant right on the bay. We got to have a nice dinner outside right next to the water. Afterwards we headed next door to the Blue Wahoos stadium, which is the minor league baseball team for the Twins. They are open up like a bar where they serve dinner and drinks stadium style. We joined some friends their for some drinks and Disney Trivia.

All in all, I think he had a good birthday. A lot of family and friends called to wish Trevor a happy birthday which always the sweetest part of the day! Trevor was really grateful for the special day. Thank you everyone who wished him well!

Thank you for reading!! I am curious since I spoil my grown adult husband on his birthday, do you and your significant others still do gifts on your birthdays?? Comment below and let me know!
